Voda names Tata Comm CEO as new biz head

Mumbai: Former MD & CEO of Tata Communications, Vinod Kumar, is joining Vodafone as head of global business from September 2. Kumar, 54, will also be part of Vodafone’s executive committee and will report to CEO Nick Read.
The appointment marks the end of a 15-year association between Kumar and Tata Communications, where he joined as a top executive in 2004 and subsequently became its CEO in 2011. His last day at Tata Communications was on July 5. Besides Tata Communications, Kumar had stints at Asia Netcom, WorldCom, Global One and Sprint International.
