Vivo eyes AI-driven 5G devices for Indian market in 2020

New Delhi: Beyond Xiaomi and Realme, one Chinese smartphone brand that has seen amazing growth in India is Vivo which will double down on its efforts to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled 5G devices in 2020 to match the fast-paced lifestyle of consumers, a top company executive said on Wednesday.

The brand took a big leap with capturing 17 per cent market share – its highest-ever — in the third quarter (July-September period) this year.

It is now third in the India smartphone market – after Xiaomi and Samsung – and according to Nipun Marya, Director Brand Strategy, Vivo India, the brand has recorded its highest-ever market share of 23 per cent for the month of October (according to German market research firm GfK).
