Vivo enables 20,000 offline retailers to resume smartphone sales from next week

NEW DELHI: Chinese handset maker Vivo is enabling 20,000 retail partners to begin smartphone sales with its new company-backed lead generation model called Vivo Smart Retail (VSR). The move is aimed at helping its retail partners regain lost business in the market besides addressing pent-up consumer demand in the market.

“We are launching the VSR model under which we will get leads from customers and test and scan those leads and once qualified, we will pass them to our retail partners. Our partners will then ensure that customers get the device without them going to shop,” Nipun Marya, Director – Brand Strategy at Vivo India told ET.
