Viavi, Capgemini collaborate on 5G and O-RAN validation

NEW DELHI: Viavi Solutions Thursday said it is collaborating with Capgemini, a French IT services and consulting company through Capgemini Engineering in Portugal to deliver a 5G and O-RAN lab test capability, powered by Viavi’s O-RAN Lab as a Service (LaaS).

5G open networks need to provide the same or better performance than traditional networks so that telecom operators can reap benefits from the high-speed, low-latency networks and reduce costs associated with network infrastructure. Also, new entrants in the supply chain pose challenges for operators as open networks depend on various types of radio and manufacturers.
