Viacom18 Studios goes aggressive down south, announces movie slate

NEW DELHI: In an aggressive push towards strengthening its presence in the non-Hindi local language market, Viacom18 Studios has announced a south Indian movie slate for 2019-2020. The six films, to be made across the Tamil and Telugu languages, will release by the end of next year.

Viacom has earlier been associated with Telugu action comedy Devadasa and Malayalam movie Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakkeel.

First in the slate is a Telugu romantic comedy titled Manmadhudu 2, a sequel to Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet Singh-starrer Manmadhudu, directed by Rahul Ravindran which releases on 9 August 2019.
