Viacom18 appoints Gourav Rakshit as Viacom18 Digital Ventures COO

New Delhi: Film, television and digital content conglomerate Viacom18 Media Pvt Ltd on Wednesday announced the appointment of Gourav Rakshit as chief operating officer for its digital arm, Viacom18 Digital Ventures. Rakshit will join the organisation in May and report to Sudhanshu Vats, Group CEO and managing director, Viacom18.

An alumnus of the University of Rochester and IIM Ahmadabad, Rakshit is currently serving as president and chief executive officer of People Group that owns and operates online wedding service Shaadi.com.

He has over two decades of experience in consumer technology, IT and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors, having started his career with Nestle and then moving on to Planetasia and Infosys Consulting before joining People Group.
