Use electronic scanners to conduct personal search of undertrials: Court to jail officials
A SPECIAL court in a recent order directed jail authorities to use electronic scanners to conduct a personal search of undertrials when they enter the prison after court visits, after one of them complained of being humiliated during the search at Taloja Central Jail.
The accused submitted a written statement to the court about being stripped and humiliated during searches. In their reply, jail authorities denied the allegations stating that false claims were being made by the undertrial to pressurise them. The court said that it found substance in the complaint filed by the undertrial.
