US corporate houses’ data sold to con call centres

AHMEDABAD: Investigators from the city’s Cybercrime police station probing the scamming call centre operation run by two brothers from Bapunagar have found that various corporate houses that are in retail businesses had sold data on American citizens to the scammers.

On August 19, police caught Rohit (22) and Hitesh Chander (20), from their house at Yogeshwar Park Society in Bapunagar, from where they were running the con call operation.

Their modus operandi was to impersonate representatives of CashNetUSA, a company that provides online loans.
