Uplinking & Downlinking of TV channels

Trai has come out with its recommendations on “Issues relating to Uplinking and Downlinking of Television Channels in India”. In its recommendations, it has suggested that auction is not feasible for grant of permissions for uplinking and downlinking of TV channels. Also, existing administrative system for grant of permissions for them should be continued and streamlined.
