Uniform RoW Rules

The department of telecommunications (DoT)’s move to implement uniform Right of Way (RoW) Rules for laying the telecom infrastructure amongst the fellow central ministries and departments has not found any takers as they continue to follow their own process. Also, DoT’s move to establish a Common Duct Agency (CDA) is still under discussions for the last several years.

The DoT had proposed to establish a CDA as an independent body within the ministry of roads, transport and highways (MoRTH) with the following responsibilities:
 Maintain regulatory and strategic oversight.
