Twitter’s head of safety and content moderation has quit
Since Elon Musk’s acquisition, Twitter has seen a massive reduction in employee count. Several executives and senior employees have also left the company. Now, Twitter’s head of trust and safety, Ella Irwin, has also quit.
News agency Reuters reported that Irwin told the publication that she has resigned from the social media company that has been facing “criticism for lax protections against harmful content” since Musk purchased it in October.
Irwin joined Twitter in June 2022 and took over as head of the trust and safety team in November when Yoel Roth, who previously headed the team, resigned. Irwin oversaw content moderation.
