Twitter to roll out Lights Out dark mode for Android soon

Twitter’s VP of design and research, Dantley Davis has revealed via his official Twitter handle that the true Dark mode called Lights Off will release to the Android version of the app by mid-September. The Lights Out mode was released for the iOS version of the Twitter app back in March.
The tweet reads “Hey Android users: ‘Lights out mode’ on Android is on track to ship by mid-September. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…”
In response to the tweet, a few users raised the question asking the reason behind the delay and in response, Davis mentioned the reason as the ‘prioritisation’. It is not yet clear why the company choose to roll out this feature on the iOS platform before the Android version of the app.
