Twitter must follow the law of the land: IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

The newly appointed union minister for electronics and IT, telecom and railways Ashwini Vaishnaw has shot off a warning to micro-blogging site Twitter soon after taking charge of office.

Answering a question on the stand-off between the Indian government and Twitter, Vaishnaw said, “Law of land is supreme, Twitter must follow the rules.”

Vaishnaw was appointed as the union minister for electronics and IT, communications in place of Ravi Shankar Prasad who was responsible for the ministries in both the terms of the Modi government, in a major Cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday.
