Twitter CEO unlikely to appear before Parliamentary panel

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is unlikely to appear before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology, and will send Colin Crowell, the company’s Head of Public Policy, Government and Corporate Philanthropy, instead.

The Parliamentary panel had summoned Dorsey to appear before it on February 25, over measures taken to ensure the safety and security of Twitter users and to probe allegations that the social media site is discriminating against ‘nationalist’ posts.

Sources close to the development told BusinessLine that though the microblogging platform has not confirmed anything in writing, it has verbally said Crowell, along with some senior officials, would attend the meeting.
