Trending stocks: Vodafone Idea shares down over 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Vodafone Idea Ltd. traded -2.42 per cent down in Tuesday’s trade at 09:31AM (IST). Around 5774788 shares changed hands on the counter. The stock opened at Rs 9.0 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 9.0 and Rs 8.72, respectively, in the session so far.

The stock quoted a 52-week high of Rs 17.15 and a 52-week low of Rs 2.4.

The telecom operator described the talks about life insurance major LIC picking up a stake as “baseless speculation”. Market players and sources within the insurance giant, however, said there were initial talks between the two, and that the government-run life insurer may look at the troubled telecom service provider to buy a large minority stake.
