Trai seeks views on defining international traffic for transactional messages

Mumbai: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has sought views on defining the term ‘international traffic’ in the unified license (UL) in an effort to categorise transactional messages sent over Indian telecom networks.

Trai released a consultation paper Tuesday after a request by two entities to instruct telecom service providers (TSPs) to allow transmission of transactional SMS (short message service) traffic under the domestic route.
