Trai seeks stakeholder comments on changes needed to ensure fair billing for consumers

NEW DELHI: The telecom regulator has sought stakeholder comments on the changes required in the audit mechanism of metering and billing system of service providers which ensures that consumers are charged for access services in a fair and transparent manner.

According to code of practice for metering and billing accuracy regulations, 2006, telecom companies are required to submit third-party audit reports which examine call data records by sampling on quarterly basis.
