TRAI resumes open house discussions, but over VC

New Delhi: Telecom regulator has resumed open house discussions as part of its consultation process, but will do it over video conferencing amid the Covid-induced nationwide lockdown.

“Considering the situation arising due to spread of Covid-19 pandemic in the country and further considering the guidelines issued by the Government of India on social distancing and not allowing gathering of people, it is decided to conduct the OHD online,” the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) said in a statement on Friday.

The open house discussion (OHD) on tariff order for curbing unsolicited commercial communication is scheduled for May 6 and provision of cellular backhaul connectivity via satellite through VSAT, for May 20.
