TRAI pulls up Airtel Digital TV for non-compliance of new regulatory framework

MUMBAI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has pulled up Bharti Telemedia, which runs direct-to-home (DTH) service Airtel Digital TV, for not complying with the new regulatory framework for broadcasting and cable TV services.

In the directive sent on Tuesday, Arvind Kumar, advisor (broadcast and cable services) at TRAI, has asked the company to resolve all the issues faced by the subscribers and adhere to the new framework, including provisions of the new tariff order, quality of service standards and consumer protection regulations.
