TRAI levies Rs 2.81 crore on Airtel for failure to curb UCC

NEW DELHI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has levied a Rs 2.81 crore fine on Bharti Airtel for failing to curb the menace of unsolicited commercial communications (UCC) in the quarter ended December 2021.
“…we hereby submit the details of the order issued to the company by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India under the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018,” Airtel said in a regulatory filing recently.
