TRAI Chairman Sharma stands by 5G pricing recommendation

Barcelona: The telecom regulator has refused to reduce its 5G spectrum prices despite operators complaining that the costs of buying the latest spectrum is very high.

“We have given our price recommendation and we stand by that,” RS Sharma , chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), told reporters on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress.

“We have given the recommendations for the reserved prices for certain bands that are unsold or partially unsold. That is pending with government. From our point of view, reserved pricing set up has been pretty reasonable,” said Sharma.
