Trademark for RealityOS, Apple’s OS for rumoured AR/VR headset, spotted

RealityOS, Apple’s rumoured name for the operating system running on its rumoured virtual and augmented reality headset, has been spotted in a trademark filing. Bloomberg first reported the “reality operating system” branding in 2017 and references to the name have also appeared in the tech giant’s software.

The trademark application wasn’t officially filed by Apple. However, it is a common practice followed by Big Tech to file trademark applications under one-off company names — Realityo Systems LLC in this case — to maintain anonymity and hide any connection.
