NEW DELHI: A chief information security officer (CISO) focuses on maintaining an organisation’s information and data security. A CISO’s job traditionally relates to protecting an organisation’s assets, applications, systems, and technology.
According to US-based telecom gear maker Cisco, a CISO’s role also includes developing and implementing secure processes and systems to protect and mitigate against cyber attacks, deploying a cybersecurity strategy and framework, and continuously managing the cyber posture of an organisation to assess risks, as well as leading cybersecurity operations and disaster recovery protocols and business continuity plans, amongst others.
