TMobile in talks to acquire Mint Mobile, claims report

Mint Mobile, the prepaid telecom service provider owned in part by Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, is reportedly on block. According to a report in Bloomberg, the company is “in talks” with mobile carrier T-Mobile. For those unaware, Mint Mobile is a division of Ultra Mobile. The report claims that T-Mobile is interested in buying Mint. If this happens, Mint would join Metro PCS as a sub-brand — which T-Mobile bought and changed to Metro by T-Mobile. Incidentally, there have been rumours of Mint Mobile being on sale earlier too.

In the last few years, Mint Mobile has made a name for itself in recent years with its affordable pricing. The company pitches itself to consumers as a more affordable option to larger telecom companies like AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. Reynolds too has been actively appearing in the company’s ads.
