Tinder makes selfie video mandatory to get a blue checkmark like Twitter

Tinder, one of the most popular dating platforms on the planet, recently added an extra layer to its photo verification process that gives users a blue checkmark like Twitter. In a recent blog post, the company announced that the ‘Photo Verification’ process now requires users to upload selfie videos.

Until now, Tinder required users to take photos of themselves in different poses which would then be compared to the member’s other pictures. If you have never used Tinder or are coming back to the platform after a long break, the photo verification tool is a safety feature that ensures the person you are matched with is indeed who they claim to be.
