TikToker Annie Niu pretends to be her dead twin every holiday. Here is why?

A TikTok user poses as her dead twin every Christmas for grandparents who are unaware of her death. Earlier this week, Annie Niu shared a TikTok video that quickly gained popularity, with more than 8 million views, 2 million likes, and thousands of comments.

In the video, Niu can be seen impersonating her deceased sister while contacting her grandparents during the holidays. She said that her unnamed sister passed away three years ago as a result of meningitis, an illness that can surround the brain or spinal cord and be deadly. Niu said she poses as her sister and keeps them unaware to save her grandparents from suffering.
