TikTok removed 6.14M accounts for violating its community guidelines in H2 2020
Releasing its fourth global transparency report for the second half of 2020 which provides information on the volume and nature of content removed for community guidelines violations, ByteDance owned short video platform TikTok said it removed 92.4% of the videos on the platform before a user reported them, 83.3% videos were removed before they received any views, and 93.5% were removed within 24 hours of being posted.
In a newsroom post, Michael Beckerman, VP, head of US public policy and Eric Han, head of US Safety at TikTok, which is currently banned in India, said 6,144,040 accounts were removed for violating the platform’s community guidelines, 9,499,881 spam accounts were removed along with 5,225,800 spam videos posted by those accounts.
