TikTok reclaims top slot on app stores in India

NEW DELHI: A week after it became available again on app stores in India, Tik Tok said on Wednesday that it has reclaimed the top spot as the number one top free app on iOS and as the top free app in the social category on the Google Play Store.

Tik Tok said it has launched #ReturnOfTikTok, its latest brand campaign and that #ReturnOfTikTok is already trending with over 504 million views on the app.

Last month, the Madras High Court lifted a stay on downloads of the popular Chinese app taking into account the safety features incorporated by its owner Beijing ByteDance Technology Co. The Madras High Court had earlier asked the Indian government to ban the TikTok app for spreading inappropriate content.
