This WhatsApp message on Blue/Red ticks is fake

If you have received a message claiming that government of India is snooping you through instant messaging app WhatsApp then you are not alone. A viral message spotted on WhatsApp has been circulating that details how the ticks change and what each colour and number of ticks stand for.
Calling the claim in this viral message fake, the official Twitter account of PIB (Press Information Bureau) Fact Check has denied any such ongoing spying.
“#Fake News Alert ! Messages circulating on Social Media reading ‘WhatsApp info regarding √ tick marks’ is #FAKE. #PIBFactCheck : No! The Government is doing no such thing. The message is #FAKE. Beware of rumours!” reads the tweet.
