This may be the biggest change coming to WhatsApp
NEW DELHI: After rolling out the dark mode support, it seems WhatsApp is gearing up to launch another big feature — one that it has been known to be working on since October 2019. Called the ‘Delete Messages’, this feature was spotted as ‘Disappearing Messages’ in October in the beta version of the Android app (v 2.19.275). Then in November, it was again found in beta version 2.19.348 of the app as ‘Delete messages.’ Both times, however, it was discovered that this feature will work for Group chats and will be enabled by only administrators of that particular group.
But according to the latest report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has changed its plan. The portal that discovers the new and upcoming changes on the instant messaging app has revealed that in the Android beta version 2.20.83/2.20.84 updates of WhatsApp, the Delete Messages feature has been reintroduced for individual chats again.
The report also includes screenshots for this claim, as per which, users may find the ‘Delete messages’ option along with other options for user’s profile such as mute notifications, media visibility, etc.
