This is how Apple plans to improve the camera on the next iPhone
It has been rumoured since a while now that Apple is working on introducing a new iPhone 3D camera system on its iPhones. A new report by Fast Company further corroborates the claim and suggests that Apple may include the same on the iPhone 12 models that are set to launch in the second half of 2020.
As per the report, a source with knowledge has confirmed that at least one 2020 iPhone will house a 3D depth camera on the rear as iPhone engineers have been working on “world facing.” This has been under development apparently since two years.
Apple will reportedly buy the laser for the new 3D from San Jose-based Lumentum, which is the same company that provides the laser for the front-facing 3D camera on iPhones.
