K-FON or Kerala Fibre Optic Network​

Kerala government has launched a new Internet service provider (ISP) name K-FON or ‘Kerala Fibre Optic Network’ becoming the first Indian state to do so to improve internet accessibility to the people.

Axe digital divide

The government has introduced K-FON to axe the digital divide by “freeing the people from the exploitation by corporate-run telecom services providers like Airtel, Jio, BSNL, and Hathway.

K-FON is claimed to offer equivalent high speed and quality as other service providers but at more affordable rates. The most basic plan would cost Rs 299 (excluding GST) per month with a speed of 20 Mbps.
