These Gmail users to get a redesigned Compose button

NEW DELHI: Google is bringing back Gmail’s popular compose button following users’ feedback. The button was removed in April this year for users of Chat in Gmail on the web. Currently, a small red button at the right side of the ‘Mail’ dropdown menu provides access for writing a new email. The wider button will now appear above the ‘Mail’, however according to the image shared by the company, the button will not have a four-color ‘plus’ icon from the Material Theme design era.
“Earlier this year, we updated the “Compose” button to a smaller, icon-only button for all users of Chat in Gmail on the web. We’ve heard from you that the original, larger version of the button is more intuitive and will be going back to that option starting November 3, 2021. | Available to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts.” said Google in a blog post.
The new Compose button has already started to appear to several users. The update comes as Gmail for web is set for a wider navigation overhaul.
