The Saheb of MTNL NK Yadav

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has a debt of Rs 16,801 crores. The company’s debt to equity ratio is 27:1. In two years’ time, it will require additional amounts of Rs 13,677 crore for spectrum renewals and expansions. The CMD of such a distressed company should show character but Narendra Kumar Yadav, the present MTNL boss distinguishes himself with his bad corporate behaviour and unethical conduct. He is busy not with repairing and reviving MTNL’s fortunes but in grabbing expensive freebies for himself – premium cars, and handsets, fraudulently claiming HRA and even making the company pay his big bills for hired cars and electricity. NK Yadav the recently appointed Member (Services) in the Telecom Commission was given the additional charge of MTNL as CMD, effective from June 8, 2015 and since then MTNL has been bearing the burden of his many high-cost indulgences.
