Terror error: Mumbai youth names Wi-Fi Lashkar-eTaliban ‘just for fun’
Ayoung man’s idea to name his Wi-Fi log-in after a terror outfit has ended up teaching him a hard lesson. The 20-something youth from Kalyan had named his Wi-Fi ‘Lashkar-E- Taliban’, something that sent residents of his neighbourhood into a tizzy.
All hell broke loose at Amrut Heaven Complex in Khadakpada locality last Sunday when a resident, who was searching for Wi-Fi networks, stumbled upon the “shocking” name. This resident quickly put out a message on the housing society’s social media group, alerting other residents.
As word spread, so did the panic and soon a few residents called up the police. The cops quickly swung into action. After a bit of legwork, they traced the youth from a building in the neighbourhood. Senior inspector of Khadakpada police station, Balasaheb Kadam, said that the young man was summoned to the police station and questioned.
