Telenor calls for clarity on Thai telecom merger conditions

OSLO: Norway’s Telenor called on Wednesday for clarification from Thailand’s telecommunications regulator on conditions imposed on an $8.6 billion merger deal between its DTAC and rival True Corporation.

Plans for a new industry leader in Thailand, with a market share of more than 50% of mobile subscribers, have been held up over competition concerns since they were announced in November.
