Telecom shares rise; Optiemus Infracom jumps over 5%

NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading with gains in Friday’s afternoon session.

Shares of Optiemus Infracom (up 4.57 per cent), GTPL Hathway (up 4.07 per cent), Reliance Communications (up 3.29 per cent) and Bharti Infratel (up 1.44 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Tejas Networks (up 1.35 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 0.80 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (up 0.67 per cent) and Tata Communications (up 0.43 per cent) too were trading higher.
