Telecom shares advance; Vindhya Telelinks jumps over 5%

NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading with gains in Tuesday’s afternoon session.

Shares of Vindhya Telelinks (up 5.69 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (up 2.83 per cent), Tejas Networks (up 1.57 per cent) and GTL (up 1.52 per cent) were trading with gains.

Tata Communications (up 0.84 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (up 0.64 per cent), OnMobile Global (up 0.33 per cent) and Himachal Futuristic Communications (up 0.24 per cent) too were trading in the green.

The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 0.14 per cent up at 989.51 around 11:40 am.
