Telecom Diary: Will India’s Atmanirbhar ambition pay off with indigenous 4G/5G stack?
India has been among the fastest growing telecom markets in the world but the telecom equipment space has been dominated by foreign companies including Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and earlier Chinese players Huawei and ZTE which no longer have takers following backdoor apprehensions.
With India’s own 4G and 5G stack developed by a consortium led by Tata Group’s TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), the country can take the lead in the telecom equipment market. The discussions are already on with multiple countries across the world to implement India’s 4G-5G technology stack.
