Telecom Diary: SOS for Vodafone Idea as it struggles to raise funds, BSNL’s 4G rollout delayed again

It’s been two months since the government announced a relief package for the industry. But, Vodafone Idea is yet to make any headway on fundraising which is critical for its survival in a hyper competitive Indian telecom market.

The relief package by the government was expected to renew interest from investors. The firm has been trying to raise funds of about Rs 25,000 crore since September 2020

However, discussions were stalled over the financial position of the cash strapped telco.
