Telecom Diary: OTT vs telcos: The debate intensifies!

As India gets closer to a full fledged launch of 5G mobile services, the debate over OTT (over the top) players vs telecom players has come to the forefront again.

The data consumption, which hit the roof with 4G mobile services, is expected to go to unimaginable limits as 5G services get adopted more widely. The main contribution of high data usage comes from consumption of videos which accounted for 40%, mainly from OTT players.
