Telecom Diary: Is the telecom industry ready for another auction?

The first 5G spectrum auction held in 2022 was a turning point for the telecom industry. It opened the gates for new technologies including artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), automation, robotics and new 5G based applications among others which has the potential to transform the sector and move India towards a digital economy.

Two private players Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have been on a 5G launching spree since the services started in October last year. 5G is expected to be available pan India by late this year or early next year.
