Telecom Department tightens norms to curb SIM frauds

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Thursday tightened rules around verification requirements for customers seeking mobile phone numbers, and for point of sale (PoS) entities appointed by telecom operators, as part of efforts to curb fraud and phishing.
