Telecom AGR dips 4.5% in Q2

KOLKATA: The telecom industry recorded a 4.56% quarter-on-quarter fall in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) in July-September 2019, hit by seasonal weakness in call volumes and the shutdown of mobile services in Jammu and Kashmir, data collated by the sector regulator showed.

The telecom industry’s AGR fell to Rs. 37,338 crore during the quarter. The overall sectoral minutes of consumption also fell, with the all-India average minutes of usage per subscriber per month from wireless services dipping nearly 1.5% sequentially to 691, according to data put out by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai).
