Tech layoffs: GitHub announce 10% job cuts
GitHub has joined the list of technology companies that are cutting jobs. The Microsoft-owned company has announced that it is laying off 10% of its workforce by the end of this fiscal year. Presently, GitHub has about 3,000 employees. Along with the layoff the company has also announced that it is shutting down its offices and will completely move to work from home culture.
GitHub will also continue to freeze hiring. “We announced a number of difficult but necessary decisions and budgetary realignments to both protect the health of our business in the short term and grant us the capacity to invest in our long-term strategy moving forward.
