TEC brings 37 more telecom products under ambit of ‘Simplified Certification Scheme’

NEW DELHI: The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), which is the technical arm of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has brought 37 more products under the Simplified Certification Scheme (SCS) with effect from January 1, 2024, in efforts to reduce time taken for certification from eight weeks to two weeks, and to enhance ease of doing business.

These products include media gateway, IP security equipment, IP terminals, optical fibre or cable, transmission terminal equipment, etc., the Ministry of Communications said in an official statement on Tuesday. With this, the total products under SCS have now gone up to 49 from 12.
