TCS, ITI bag purchase order for 1 lakh 4G sites from BSNL: Report

State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has been issued a purchase order (PO) to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and ITI Limited for 1 lakh 4G sites, according to a report in CNBC Awaaz. The Group of Ministers (GoM) on May 8 had approved the deployment of 1 lakh sites for the rollout of the BSNL’s 4G network by the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)-led consortium.

IT giant TCS, a part of the Tata group, will supply 4G equipment for 100,000 sites for a total sum of close to Rs 24500 crore that includes network gear for about Rs 13,000 crores. The deal includes third-party items and a 10-year annual maintenance contract (AMC). ITI reportedly bagged an APO worth Rs 3,889 crores from BSNL for Reservation Quota (RQ) Order in the west zone. The company is said to carry out planning, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning, and Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) of 4G network for 23,633 sites in the west zone.
