Tangedco gives 15 days to clear cables from EB poles; cable TV association wants a rethink in Tamil Nadu
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu cable TV operators general welfare association has petitioned Tangedco chairman and managing director Rajesh Lakhoni to reconsider the decision to remove all cables from electricity poles within 15 days.
This comes after Tangedco issued a memo to its officers to remove cables, including those of TV and telecom service providers, in the next 15 days.
The memo issued by the chief engineer, commercial, said that though the instructions were issued to clear the cables and advertisement boards from Tangedco’s poles, no cable TV operator adhered to it. A Tangedco official said that the cable TV operators a re not bothered if the electricity pole is high or low tension and ignore the risk involved.
