Tamil Nadu urges Centre to expedite nod to Luxshare plan

Chennai: Tamil Nadu is urging the Centre to hasten its approval for the investment proposal by Chinese electronics maker Luxshare, one of the top contract manufacturers of Apple devices, which has been in the works since May 2020, officials told ET.

The Dongguan-headquartered company, which assembles iPhones and also makes Apple Watches and ‘hearables’ like the AirPods, will be the third after Taiwan’s Foxconn and Pegatron, to set up manufacturing facilities in Chennai for the American technology major.
