Supreme Court technical panel to probe Pegasus row
NEW DELHI: Ending the suspense over the nature of inquiry into the Pegasus controversy, the Supreme Court Thursday said it will pass orders next week on constituting a technical committee of eminent experts. The panel will probe issues, highlighted by over a dozen PILs, alleging phones of certain politicians, journalists, lawyers and activists were illegally intercepted using the spyware.
The interim order to be passed by a bench headed by CJI N V Ramana is expected to outline terms and conditions for the committee and the issues to be studied, including the alleged involuntary injection of the spyware manufactured by an Israeli company into mobile phones, and unauthorised harvesting of data.
